My Own Little Rant

Just had a very interesting discussion on the front porch about government and religion. Apparently I'm a moron for what I think, but I'm going to share it with y'all anyway.

First of all, I think that voting is important. If you like someone and want them to win you have to vote and get other people to vote for them. People with more money win more often because they can reach more people. They can also pay off groups who get their members to vote for them. I do not agree with this, and I think it's horrible, but it's the truth. But, in my own humber opinion, voting still matters. VOTE. Even if you think it's a pointless waste of time and nothing you do matters. Still do it. Because if you're deadset that something is going to happen or a certain person is going to win and you don't at least TRY to change it then you're just as at fault as the people who don't care. Maybe if people started voting, things wouldn't be as much about money. Who can say? But right now that's what matters. Money. The more money you have the more people you can pay off and the more people you can go talk to who aren't a part of a special interest group and get their vote.  I don't care how "unimportant" my vote may be, I will vote until I day because it's my duty as a citizen to do that.

I also find it my duty to question the government, which I do. I question a lot of what it does. But I can also accept that it controls us, that's what it's there for. Government as always controlled people. Why? Maybe because people need controlled. I don't know. But there's always been some form of government controlling us. Maybe we don't like how they're controlling us, but we need government. Without government it would be mass chaos. People wouldn't know what to do. Government is a necessary thing. It is also very corrupt. ALL government is. No matter how big or small it is. You know why? BECAUSE POWER CORRUPTS PEOPLE. That's how life works. When people get positions of power over other people, they are prone to take advantage of it. That's human nature. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Personally, I feel that some degree of control keeps us safer. Just my opinion though. I'm sorry that I don't want to blame the government for everything or hate them completely. I think that no matter what the government does, they're still there to protect us and keep us safe.

As for religion, I'm not a fan persay of religion, but it's also necessary. Religion is just another form of government. All religions control you in some aspect. That's why I like just having faith. I have faith that someone(s) or something is watching over me and making sure that I get through life alright. In my personal faith, that being is two figures, a goddess and a god. They protect me as long as I don't do anything too horrible. Someday when I day, I'm going to be rewarded for being a good person somehow and I'll get to see my family again. That is what I have faith in. I have faith in the fact that I am a good person and I would do anything to help someone even if I didn't like them that much. I have faith in that it doesn't matter that I'm not religious. That's my faith.

Apparently having something to believe in is horrible. And apparently thinking that voting is important and that the government isn't completly horrible is foolish and naive. Yes, I'm just a moron for believing in things. Oh and apparently I'm really dumb and corrupted to think that I need to pay taxes (do NOT get me started on that). I guess I'll just be a tax paying foolish naive moron until I die though. At least I'll be happy.

1 As long as you love me, that's all that matters.
